Seth Eastman (1808-1875)

Brevet Brigadier General Seth Eastman was one of the foremost 19th century painters of Indian life, western landscapes and U.S. military posts. Eastman was a career army officer who spent many years in the frontier. He was a keen observer of everyday Indian life and created many paintings recording it. This is a signed carte de visite.
