Thomas (Tad) Lincoln (1853-1871)
Thomas Lincoln was the fourth son of Abraham and Mary Todd Lincoln. He was named after his paternal grandfather, but was nicknamed "Tadpole" or Tad for short. The boy was often found by his father's side while Lincoln attended to presidential matters. Tad died at age eighteen, presumably from tuberculosis.
