Semper Opera House

Dresden's Semper Opera House was originally constructed in 1838-41 by architect Gottfried Semper, an example of "Dresden-Baroque" architecture. Destroyed by fire in 1869, it was rebuilt by Semper's son Manfred, using the glorious High Renaissance style, in 1871-78.
