Confederate Ram "Atlanta" Captured by the Federals

On June 17, 1863, the Union monitor USS Weehawken captured the Confederate ram Atlanta at the mouth of the Wilmington River in Georgia. The Union Navy officers pose here on their captured prize. The Atlanta was not seriously damaged and was added to the Federal navy.
