Rosa Bonheur (1822-1899) and Family

Rosa Bonheur (seated on the right) was a French painter and sculptor who was known especially for her ability to paint animals in a detailed and accurate way. She was very unconventional for her time -- she wore trousers, smoked and kept a lioness as a pet.
