Annie Eve Fay (1850-1927)
Annie Eve Fay was a spiritualist. She was a psychic who deceived and baffled Sir William Crookes who wished to investigate her phenomena and used an electrical control circuit to monitor her movements. Houdini claimed that she explained to him, in 1924, how she evaded this, and deceived the scientist. She is shown here in a carte de visite by Jeremiah Gurney of New York City.
