Adah Isaacs Menken (1835-1868)

Adah Isaacs Menken was an actress and poet. Menken was married four times to various men including the boxer John Heenan. However this marriage became scandalous when it was discovered that she had failed to divorce her first husband. She also had an affair with the French writer Alexander Dumas pere.
