Elizabeth Jane Poorman French (1815-1890)

Mrs. French was a spiritualist and "magnetic healer" who used electricity in therapeutic healing and in her attempts to contact the spirits. She was the author of the book "A New Path in Electrical Therapeutics: an account of Prof. Elizabeth J. French’s great discovery of electrical cranial diagnosis, and the scientific application of nine different currents of electricity to the cure of disease" (1873).
