George Washington holds a sword in his left hand and has his right arm outstretched in this 19th century lithographed poster that identifies him as "First in war, first in peace, and first in the hearts of his countrymen!" This lithograph was engraved and published by James Baillie of New York City. It was based on a painting by Gilbert Stuart.
