Susan B. Anthony Satire

In 1873 the artist Thomas Wust depicted Susan B. Anthony in vicious fashion on the cover of the new illustrated journal The Daily Graphic. She wears the distinctive collar and brooch which were now part of her regular costume, but also an Uncle Sam top hat and spurred boots. The cover was part of a brutal satire entitled "The Women Who Dared."
