Elbert Henry Gary (1846-1927)

Elbert Henry Gary helped form the United States Steel Corporation in February 1901. U.S. Steel was the country's first billion-dollar corporation and Gary was named chair of the executive committee. He attended Union College of Law in Chicago, graduating first in the class of 1868.
