Grace George (1879-1961)
Grace George was an actress who achieved success as a director, translator, and adapter. She was also instrumental in introducing and popularizing Shaw's plays in the United States. George played over fifty stage roles, but she made only one movie, "Johnny Come Lately," with James Cagney in 1943. She is shown here as Lady Teazle in a revival of Sheridan's "The School for Scandal."
