"Hunting Indians in Florida with Blood Hounds"

In a scene from the second Seminole War (1835-1842), this lithograph shows some of the brutal tactics that were employed by Zachary Taylor. Taylor is on horseback at the right of the lithograph. Bloodhounds and American soldiers relentlessly pursue a crowd of Indians. Amongst the crowd are women and children. A bloodhound in the foreground bites the neck of a Seminole.
