"The Herod of the Nineteenth Century"

This is a cartoon depicting Abraham Lincoln as a modern day King Herod sitting on a throne with liberty locked away in a prison cell. It is particularly critical of Lincoln's hesitancy to deal with the issue of slavery and the emancipation of slaves.
