Jefferson's Message to Congress on the Embargo
This is Thomas Jefferson's message to Congress on the embargo of trade with Britain and the France, written on March 17, 1808. Jefferson is informing Congress of decrees issued by England, France and Spain on the hijacking of American cargo and ships, and the impressment of American citizens.
