Louise, Maud, Victoria, Princesses of Wales
Princess Louise (1867-1931), left, was the third child and oldest daughter of Edward VII and Queen Alexandra. In 1889 "Lulu" married Alexander Duff and became Duchess of Fife. The couple had three children. Princess Maud (1869-1938), seated, was the third daughter and youngest child of Edward VII and Queen Alexandra. A lively girl, she was nicknamed Harry. In 1896 Maud married her first cousin, Prince Carl of Denmark, and when he accepted the Norwegian throne, was crowned Queen Maud of Norway. Their only child became King Olav. Princess Victoria (1868-1935), right, was the fourth child and second daughter of Edward and Alexandra, known as Toria. She had many suitors but chose not to marry. Victoria remained devoted to her mother, a woman much loved by her people but less loved by her husband, until her death.
