The Homes and Wages of Pullman Operatives
These pictures from the August 9, 1894 issue of Frank Leslie's Illustrated Newspaper include portraits of Carroll D. Wright, John D. Kernan, and Hon. N. E. Worthington, who were members of the Board of Inquiry appointed by President Cleveland during the Pullman strike. Also shown is a view of the main administration building and the Illinois Central Railroad Station, as well as scenes of employee homes in the Pullman company town. These scenes include a water closet; the rear entrance to a flat; the interior of an apartment; and the exteriors of several houses.
