Memorial Ribbon for James A. Garfield
The words at the top of the ribbon read "In Memoriam. James A. Garfield, Twentieth President of the United States. Born Nov. 19, 1831. Died Sept. 19, 1881." Underneath the image of Garfield are the words "Fellow-citizens, clouds and darkness are round about Him! Dark waters and thick clouds of the skies are His canopy! Justice and judgment are the habitation of His throne! Mercy and truth shall go before His face! Fellow-citizens, God reigns, and the Government at Washington still lives."
