Sitting Bull

This is a photograph of Sitting Bull, a great Hunkpapa Sioux Chief, who was also known as Tatonka-I-Yotanka. Sitting Bull was hostile to the Federal Government in the 1880s, and he was also a widely feared warrior, who had played a role at Custer's Last Stand in 1876. He later became a part of Buffalo Bill Cody's Wild West show.
