Deathbed Scene of James Garfield

Lucretia Garfield sits beside the bed weeping, and various doctors (including the female doctor, Susan Edson) confer with each other around the room. Garfield was shot by Charles J. Guiteau on July 2, 1881, but it was not until September 19 that he died.
