Benjamin Harrison in 1888 (1833-1901)
Benjamin Harrison was the twenty-third president of the United States. His great-grandfather, another Benjamin Harrison, signed the Declaration of Independence, and his grandfather, the legendary general William Henry Harrison, "Old Tippecanoe," served briefly as the ninth president of the United States. He lost the popular vote to Grover Cleveland, but he won in the electoral vote in 1888. Harrison fought in the Civil War and became a brigadier general. He was also the U.S. senator from Indiana from 1881 until 1887.
