"A Slave of Many Masters"

President Benjamin Harrison toils away at the "Administration Patronage Mill" to produce jobs for his many political supporters. Republican party bosses, such as James Blaine, William Mahone, Thomas Platt, etc. and other special interest leaders, such as Lumber King and the District Leader, drive Harrison on with whips. This political cartoon was drawn by Joseph Keppler in September 1889.
