Standing in the Water, Chief of the Cheyenne

Chief of the Cheyenne, Standing in the Water, is photographed at Brady's studio in New York City, having traveled there from Colorado for an appearance at P.T. Barnum's American Museum. Note his shoes. Standing in the Water died at the Sand Creek Massacre in 1864.
