War Bonnet, Chief of the Cheyenne

This is a photograph of War Bonnet, the chief of the Cheyenne Native American tribe. War Bonnet was photographed at Brady's studio in New York City, having traveled there from Colorado for an appearance at P.T. Barnum's American Museum. He died at the Sand Creek Massacre in 1864.
