Hole in the Day, Chief of the Chippewa

This is a photograph of the chief of the Chippewa Native American tribe, Hole in the Day. The photograph was taken by Mathew Brady at his New York City studio. Hole in the Day met with President Abraham Lincoln at the White House on February 20, 1863.
