"Jackson Offering to Share his Acorns with a Soldier"
During the Battle with the Creek Indians of 1814, the Tennessee militia had run out of food. In this engraving, a starving soldier demands to know what General Andrew Jackson is eating. Jackson offers to share some acorns which has been his only food for days. The print was engraved by A. B. Cross after a painting by H. Hillyard.
