"Battle of New Orleans, January 8, 1815"

General Andrew Jackson led the American troops in defeating the British in the last battle of the War of 1812. Jackson became a national hero after this battle. This print was engraved by O. Pelton after a drawing by H. Billings. It was engraved specifically as an illustration for the book Abbott's "Lives of the Presidents of the United States," published in 1884.
