Silhouette of President Andrew Jackson

This silhouette of Andrew Jackson in retirement was drawn from life by William Henry Brown and the engraving printed in black and yellow on a linen cloth. Jackson is shown standing by a tree and gazing at his estate, The Hermitage, from a distance. It was originally published in Brown's 1845 book "Portrait Gallery of Distinguished American Citizens."
