"Mr. Cleveland's Wild Team"
This cartoon by George Yost Coffin for the "Washington Post " shows John Griffin Carlisle driving a carriage in which President Grover Cleveland sits. Carlisle was secretary of the Treasury during Cleveland's second term (1893-97). The animals pulling the carriage are called "Gold Democracy" and "Silver Democracy." Gold Democracy has fallen to the ground.
