War Bonnet, Chief of the Cheyenne

He is photographed at Brady's studio in New York City, having traveled there from Colorado for an appearance at P.T. Barnum's American Museum. War Bonnet (sometimes identified as Standing in the Water) died at the Sand Creek Massacre in 1864.
