This is a pro-Whig political cartoon representing the opposition to the Treasury system of Andrew Jackson and Martin Van Buren. Presidential candidate William Henry Harrison cuts down a tree with Jackson and Van Buren's "Sub treasury" nest while Henry Clay and Daniel Webster pull it down with ropes.
