"Major-General Zachary Taylor, President of the United States"
This full length lithograph of Major General Taylor standing beside his horse was engraved by John Sartain from a daguerreotype. The horse is probably his beloved "Old Whitey." The engraving was made in 1846, the year that Zachary Taylor led his men to victory at Palo Alto, Resaca de la Palma, and Monterrey in the Mexican War.
