Zachary Taylor's Home
This illustration is probably Spanish Cottage in Baton Rouge, the house that General Zachary Taylor lived in after the Mexican War. Taylor had intended to retire to Spanish Cottage. However, his huge popularity following the war led to his nomination for president. He was elected in 1848.
