"Defence (sic) of Fort Harrison"
In September of 1812, Captain Zachary Taylor won distinction for his defense of Fort Harrison against an Indian attack. In this engraving, Taylor, the future president, raises his sword above an Indian. Fort Harrison was in Indiana territory, near present-day Terre Haute.
