Francis Dana (1743-1811)
Dana was an influential politician, lawyer and diplomat in the Colonial period. He was a delegate to the Continental Congress and accompanied John Adams on his diplomatic mission to Paris to negotiate the end of the Revolutionary War. Dana also served as a U.S. minister to Prussia. He served in Congress and was appointed chief justice of the Massachusetts Supreme Court.
