Selma to Montgomery Freedom March
The National Guard stands by as civil rights marchers walk from Selma to Montgomery in an effort to secure voting rights. The marchers had been previously turned away twice by local law enforcement officials. Some marchers were brutally beaten before the national guard was called in to protect them.
