Amos Beebe Eaton (1806-1877)

Eaton graduated from West Point in 1826 and served in the Seminole War and the Mexican War, where he was the chief commissary of subsistence under General Zachary Taylor. During the Civil War he was depot commissary at New York, purchasing commissioner for the armies in the field and also commissary general of the armies in the field. He was brevetted major general.
