General James Barnett Fry (1827-1894)
James Barnett Fry served in the Mexican War after teaching artillery at West Point. Fry was chief of staff to McDowell at 1st Bull Run and then became Buell's chief of staff. Fry was brevetted for 1st Bull Run, Shiloh, and Perryville (brigadier general in the regular army) and for war service (major general).
