Henry Alger Gildersleeve (1840-1923)

Henry Alger Gildersleeve was born in New York. When the Civil War broke out he became a captain of volunteers. After the war he attended Columbia University Law School. He became a judge on the New York State supreme court until his retirement from the bench in 1909.
