Oliver S. Glisson

Oliver S. Glisson was a rear admiral in the United States Navy. When he was captain of the "Santiago de Cuba" he managed to capture the swift Confederate blockade-runner, the "A.D. Vance," which was bringing cargo to hungry southern ports. Glisson was commissioned rear admiral in 1870 and ordered to command the European Fleet.
