Andrew Hickenlooper (1837-1904)

Andrew Hickenlooper was a brevet brigadier general in the Union Army. He began as a civil engineer. Because of his military engineering genius, Hickenlooper was a hero at Vicksburg (1862-63), where he earned a gold medal for constructing a bridge from cotton bales.
