Thomas Hicks (1823-1890)
Thomas Hicks was a portrait painter. In 1845 he toured Europe and studied with Thomas Couture. In 1849 he established a studio in New York City and painted many famous people, including Abraham Lincoln, Henry Ward Beecher, and William Cullen Bryant.
