Captain George N. Hollins
George Nichols Hollins was a captain in the Confederate navy. Before the war he had fought Barbary pirates for the U.S. Navy. On June 29, 1861, Hollins disguised himself as a woman and took control of the Chesapeake Bay steamer "St. Nicholas." It was the first victory for the Confederacy.
