Looking West From 123rd Street, New York City

Two men get the lay of the land in Central Park. The pasture abuts Manhattan Street; the steeple at left belongs to the Convent of the Sacred Heart. Known as Donnelley's Woods, the trees were leveled in 1900-01 to make way for 134th, 135th and 136th Streets.
