The thoroughfare is seen from the corner of Broome Street looking north after a good rain. The photograph was taken out of the studio window of E. and H.T. Anthony and Co.'s new location at 501 Broadway (they had moved there in May 1860). Across the street is the St. Nicholas Hotel.
