John D. Imboden (1823-1895)
John Daniel Imboden was a brigadier general in the Confederate army. He organized the Staunton Artillery which he commanded at 1st Bull Run. He was appointed brigadier general and led Jones's Raid and Imboden's West Virginia Raid in 1863. In 1864 he became ill with typhoid fever. His commander relieved him of his duty for inefficiency.
