Brayton Ives (1840-1914)
Brayton Ives was a brigadier general of volunteers in the Union Army. During the Civil War, he earned the rank through his leadership at Reams's Station, Deep Bottom, Five Forks, and Sayler's Creek. Ives was later the president of the New York Stock Exchange and a collector of rare books.
