Jenny Lind (1820-1887)

Jenny Lind was the Swedish-born soprano admired for her vocal control and agility and for the purity and naturalness of her art. She is perhaps best known as "The Swedish Nightingale," and was brought to America by P. T. Barnum in 1850, where she became very famous.
