Mary Ashton Rice Livermore (1820-1905)
Mary Rice Livermore was a reformer, lecturer, writer, and editor. Although she is most often remembered for her volunteer work during the Civil War with the Sanitary Commission, Livermore was also an advocate for women's rights, suffrage, temperance, abolitionism, and moral reforms.
