Edward Dicey (1832-1911)
Edward James Stephen Dicey was a British journalist. He was a correspondent during the Lincoln administration. During his stay in the 1860s Dicey stated that "the American might be defined as a newspaper-reading animal." In 1870 he was named editor of "The Observer" in London.
